My playground is the Peak District as I have said many times before and I'm lucky to have it on my doorstep, I don't think I ever take it for granted.
Earlier this month I had the genuine pleasure of guiding a group of guys and girls from the Isle of Man, a fantastic group of the most enthusiastic and talented amateur riders that I have rode with in a vey long time.
Between then I think they may have rode every iconic MTB trail in the UK and Overseas and I was really conscious of the financial investment and personal commitments they had made for three days of riding in the Peaks and I did not want to let them down.
I used all of my trail knowledge and experience to plan three big days of riding with the odd pub here an there to refuel of course and the weather really did us proud and gave an unusual display of three warm dry days.
Now I'm very happy to report that the guys had a fantastic time.......
1. The weather was great.
2. They had a good guiding crew :-)
3. They were fit and talented riders.
4. They are a great bunch of friends who rode as a group together and supported each other.
All things considered, what really made it and what they came to do was ride mountain bike, and the Peak District trails delivered fun, challenging sometimes frightening terrain, thank you guys, I'm looking forward to visiting you in the Isle of Man next year.
